A gradually unfurling project for a young family who were captivated by the elegance of this grand neo-classical townhouse in York that stands on an ancient Roman gladiatorial ground. The grade II listed house was designed by JB & W Atkinson Architects in the 1850s and is rich with original features, including many bas relief plaster works that represent a variety of scenes, from sporting to romance to motherhood.

The key rooms have been almost fully refurbished, as we move now to adding depth and texture to the home.
