What it is:
A late-Victorian flat located in leafy Dulwich.
The client:
Anouska herself!
Background:
A previous home of Anouska’s, this flat gave her a chance to paint her own canvas and explore ways to meld some of her favourite design periods and styles. 19th and early 20th century Asian pieces are mixed with Art Deco, 20th century classics, exotic rugs, and of course a little Chinoiserie.
Muses & motivations:
To find expressive ways to weave together the many sentimental pieces she’d gathered whilst travelling with treasured heirlooms and antique market finds collected over the years.
It’s all in the details:
Anouska’s playful streak comes out with an orange velvet bed that offers a surprise burst of colour and texture in an otherwise quiet, tranquil space. Drawing upon her own heritage and world travels, the luxurious blue of the bathroom was inspired by a visit to the Cheong Fatt Tze “The Blue Mansion” in Penang, Malaysia.
